Abstract: The form of the Taoist music phenomena observed, the formation of and changes in its style are largely determined and dominated by the environment in which they occur (speaking from a general concept of the system of sects, the belief system, and details of the activities in the temple ceremony). In view of this, in comparing Taoist music in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, the focus of attention in this paper, as well as its main concern and content, will be the environments in which they occur in these two places.
