2023年第三届国际研讨会旨在为广泛思考视听媒体作为民族音乐学研究工具的使用提供一个学术场所,进而理解电影制作是一种创造、传播与知识经验等多方面极具价值的工具。同时,研讨会探讨保存和传播民族音乐学知识的新方法,并促进关于影音民族音乐学新兴领域的思考提供了一个机会。

我们欢迎来自民族音乐学、民俗学和相关领域的学者和电影制作人加入我们的讨论和分享。我们邀请您提交具有民族音乐学兴趣的论文/影片,包括涉及民族音乐学研究方法,以及对视听材料可能用于研究、推广和教学的创造性方法。鼓励以少数族裔社区和人口的音乐创作为重点的论文和影片。

会议语言

论文参会:所有发言需使用英语。

影片参会:所有使用非英语语言的影片需有英文字幕。

提交须知

每位主讲人应在截止日期2023年3月31日前提交至电子邮件地址qiaoqiaocheng922@gmail.com。请在邮件标题中注明所参与的类型(电影或论文)。电子邮件应清楚表明作者的姓名和报告的标题。附加的Word或Open Office文件不注明作者,应包含不超过250字的摘要和5个关键词。同一作者在每个类别中最多只能提出一个申请:1篇论文+1部电影。申请需以英文提交。

· 论文:每位演讲者最多有20分钟的论文时间,另外还有10分钟的讨论时间。鼓励在演讲中使用视听素材。

· 电影:会议欢迎长篇民族志电影(不超过90分钟)、短片(不限长度)和相互关联的短片合集(2-4部)。电影摘要应该包含一个到预告片、预告片或完整电影的超链接。电影委员会可能会要求完整的电影进行评估,电影清晰度至少为1080p,不超过5GB大小。每部电影所提交的摘要应包括250字的摘要,内容包含民族志兴趣、拍摄目的与民族音乐学思考等。


评估

委员会将采用双盲制度审查这些建议。每个摘要将由两名匿名审稿人进行评估。如果出现平局,将咨询第三位审查员。入选方案将于2023年4月30日前公布。


注册费

所有参与者将被要求支付费用,付费参与者为80欧元;学生和无工资者60欧元。注册费包括会议时间内的餐费(午餐和茶点)。

Understanding filmmaking as a valuable and multi-faceted tool in creating, disseminating and experiencing knowledge, the 2023 International Symposium aims to provide a scholarly venue for broad reflections on the use of audiovisual media as a research tool in ethnomusicology. Meanwhile, the Symposium offers an occasion to explore new ways of preserving and disseminating ethnomusicological knowledge and for the fostering of debates on and within the emerging field of audiovisual ethnomusicology.


We welcome scholars and filmmakers from ethnomusicology, folklore, and related fields to join our discussion andsharing. We invite you to submitpaperand/or films of ethnomusicological interest,includethose that employ ethnomusicological research methodologies, and those that examine creative ways that audiovisual materials might be used in research, outreach, and teaching. Papers and films with a focus on music making in ethnic minority communities and populations are also warmly encouraged.


Conference language

For papers: All papers should be presented in English.

For film: English subtitles for films are required for films presented in other languages.


Submissions

All proposals should be submitted by the deadline of 31 March 2023 to the e-mail address qiaoqiaocheng922@gmail.com. Specifyingin the email title whether your proposal is a film or a paper. The e-mail should clearly indicate the name of the author(s) and the title of the presentation. An attached Word or Open Office file,with no indication of authorship, should contain the abstract (max. 250 words) and 5 keywords. The same author maymakeno more than one proposal in each category: 1 paper + 1 film.

· Papers:

Each presenter will be given a maximum time of 20 minutes for the paper, and another 10 minutes for discussion.The use of audiovisual excerpts during the presentation is encouraged.


· Films:

We welcome both full-length ethnographic films (90 mins max),short films (no minimum length) and collections of short films (2-4 films)that dialogue with one another. Film abstracts should include ahyperlinktoa trailer, teaser, or to the complete film. The Film Committee may request the complete film for evaluation, film should be available in 1080p at least and size 5GB maximum. The abstract submitted for each film should include a description (max. 250 words) documenting its ethnographic interest, purpose, ethnomusicological thinking, etc.


Evaluations

The Committee will review the proposals using a double-blind system. Each abstract will be evaluated by two anonymous reviewers. In case of a tie, a third reviewerwillbeconsulted. Selected proposals will be announced by 30 April 2023.

Registration fee

All participants will be required to pay a fee (€80 for waged participants; €60 for students and unwaged).Registration fee includes meals (lunch and tea / coffee breaks) during conference hours.
